ATEX refers to two EU directives that cover equipment, safety systems, and safety procedures in explosive areas. Norway commits to this EU legislation through the EFTA cooperation. However, according to the Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning (DSB), knowledge of explosion hazards in businesses is insufficient, and therefore, the authorities have developed guidance for the regulations, which will be presented this week.
Innovative course portfolio
In connection with the new guidance, OilComp will present a comprehensive and innovative ATEX course portfolio, which includes basic and advanced courses in explosion safety for gas, dust, and hydrogen, as well as ATEX training for employees and employers.
- To prevent accidents and operate safely, we need to inform about the content of the new guidance. We need to highlight explosion risks, operational measures, and training, explains Eirik Eidem, CEO of OilComp.
Collaboration with Gexcon Certification
The ATEX courses have been developed in collaboration with the technical control organization Gexcon Certification, which has extensive experience in explosion safety.
- The fact that we can offer complete ATEX training together will provide course participants with courses that have a solid foundation of expertise combined with the best in pedagogy, communication skills, and e-learning, which I believe will be very well received, explains Eidem.
Gexcon Certification is a technical control organization specializing in ATEX and offers customized ATEX courses tailored to the customer's needs.
